Tissue pouch tutorial

Just as promised here is my tutorial for a fabric tissue pouch. These are so cute and make great gift and the best part you don't need any special skills to make one.

Supplies needed:
1 piece of 6" x8" fabric for the exterior
1 piece
of 6" x 8" fabric for the lining
scissors
ruler
iron
pins
and your sewing machine
you could also put some fusible interfacing between the layers but this is OPTIONAL.

Step one: cut your 2 pieces of fabric (6"x 8") you can use any print of fabric you want, then lay both pieces right sides together and pin. I will use the bird pattern on the outside and the yellow fabric as the lining. Then sow about 1/4 inch from the edge almost all the way around. leave about a 1-2 inch opening on the longer side of the fabric. (the 7 " side)

Step two: turn the the fabric right side out and press with you iron.

Step three: pull one side of the fabric to the middle and then the other side so they overlap by about half an inch and pin together, make sure the edges are straight. (the print you want to be on the outside needs to be in the inside now, in my case the bird pattern will be in the inside.)

Step four: sew the ends shut about 1/4 inch from the edge and turn right side out again.

Last step: stuff you pouch with some tissue. this will fit travel size tissues.

Here are the tissues that will fit this pouch.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
